The Grotte Chauvet 2 has introduced a novel visitor experience through an immersive application designed for self-guided exploration of the cave. This tour system enables visitors to navigate the site at their own pace, enriched by informative commentaries that elucidate the remarkable art created by Homo sapiens 36,000 years ago.

• All content within the new application has been meticulously developed by our mediation department.
• The application will be accessible in ten languages.

The Aurignacian Gallery: A Playful Approach

This interpretation center presents life-size recreations of Homo sapiens and the animals that roamed the Ardèche region 36,000 years ago. Visitors can encounter a humanity reminiscent of our own alongside remarkable species such as the mammoth, woolly rhinoceros, cave lion, and megaceros. It offers an engaging experience suitable for both young and old.

Outdoor Activities Available Daily!

Visitors can also explore the Paleolithic camp titled "Get Out of Your Cave!" Here, experienced animators guide you back in time, allowing for a deeper immersion into the lives of our ancestors.

• The "Art and Spirituality" segment explores the techniques and artifacts including sculpted objects, ornaments, and musical instruments created by prehistoric societies.
